Christian Love

God’s people must learn by precept and
practice to love one another and pray for one another. Nothing in the world
will convince outsiders that we are truly the disciples of the Lord more than
visible, genuine love and affection among brothers and sisters in Christ.
Jesus said, “A new command I give you:
Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this
all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1:9-11 NIV).

They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my

Paul reminded the Philippians of his prayers and love for them:
“I thank my God every
time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy
because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being
confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to
completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:3-6 NIV).
Let us learn to love one another by habitual
practice, so when we think of one another we will have a good memory of each
other and thank God. Copyright © 2008
