There is a Jewish tradition that forty days before a male child is born, an angel speaks the name of the maiden he will marry.  While I am not Jewish, if that were to be true, I believe her name was “Sarah,” because God does not show favoritism (Acts 10: 34).

We celebrated our Jubilee Anniversary in November, by taking a three week road trip through Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia and Florida. We visited some historic places and some of the most beautiful scenery in America. God Bless America!

Sarah and I were married December 26, fifty years ago. She has been a faithful and loving wife, mother and dear friend for all of these years. She has been a great blessing in my work of preaching the gospel now for forty eight years.

I prayed in my youth that God would send me a beautiful and faithful Christian lady and he heard and answered my prayers. To my God, and my Christian parents, and her mother and father who brought her up in the way she should go (Proverbs 22:6), and the church of Christ that taught both of us the gospel message, I give my thanks.

Three wonderful children and their mates and seven “grand” grandchildren have richly blessed our lives and service to Christ.  They have all risen up and “called us blessed!” We thank God for faithful and loving children and grandchildren.

Marriage is a covenant or agreement to each other, to God and to those who witnessed the marriage, to be faithful until death separates the union. We have kept that covenant and are committed to continue to do so till God calls us home. God bless all those who honor God in the divine institution of marriage.
